I've never been that bothered by most sports games but I bought this on recommendation and holy shit: could it be the best Tennis game ever made? Endless hours of fun this was. An absolutely bafflingly large roster of characters that run the gamut of useless to broken, and music that is divisive but anyone with taste loves to bits. Just an incredible fighting game that we will never see the likes of again. Random battles somewhat sour it these days, and they toned them down for the GameCube release, but this had bags of character and charm and an amazing soundtrack. I really enjoyed the "puzzle" of the routes you had to take to complete each level perfectly. It had incredible style, music and I still argue it was enormous fun to play. Also still one of the best fighting games of all time Screenshots don't do it justice as in motion on a VGA CRT monitor it was one of the most beautiful games ever made. I'm currently experiencing periodic bouts of feverish coughing, but I refuse to let this ruin my day so I've been thinking about some of my favourite Dreamcast games, which is basically every single one that I own but just these few off the top of my head from my collection are all great: Hooked up to a modern screen via VGA into an OSSC and it still looks great, as I said before the pad is a shocker and my word they are loud but just bloody look at it, what a machine Many years of fun was had, I regret selling it / disposing of it - dont know where it went 😭but all was sorted earlier this year when a new one was purchased and modded, it sits proudly under its spiritual successor….

I love the Dreamcast, I didnt really like the Saturn before it and was a Snes man over the Megadrive - I’m not much of a Sega fanboy is my point! But that all changed when my mate imported a JP Dreamcast and I had a go on it, my word I had to have one but just couldn’t afford it as I had just built a bloomin decent for the time gaming PCĪ short while later I swapped said gaming PC for my mates Dreamcast and never looked back - best trade ever, £750ish value was pretty good going for a JP Launch DC with launch games and a couple of accessories (did the VGA come out on launch? I had it hooked to a PC less monitor so assume it did or some time later) and it was brilliant until the controller port died as they all did and then I put the power lead into the JP PSU thinking it was a PAL one and they went pop with some smoke 😂
